- We are going on a field trip on June 8th to the Etobicoke Field Studies Centre. I have chosen the Earth's Treasures program. The permission forms will be sent out next week. I will need volunteers which will be pulled out of a hat. Thank you in advance.

Math:
We began our fractions unit. Students learned about equal shares and cut chocolate chip cookies into halves. They shared 1/2 of their cookie with a friend.

Students learned how to fold and cut paper in different ways in order to get 4 equal parts.

Ms. Furczon's shop is doing well !! Students are getting much faster at recognizing and counting Canadian coins. We are also using money in our pretend ice-cream shop!

Literacy:
This week, instead of table rotations, students had an opportunity to choose centres that they were interested in. Everyone was so engaged for 40 minutes!

Social Studies:
We discussed our responsibilities in the community and answered questions in small groups.

Math games and reading with our Grade 4 reading buddies.

Science:
Living and nonliving things! We have an earthworm garden in our classroom- the fun never stops!
