We took Thursday morning off to simply relax our bodies. We talked about our classroom conflicts and our rules and consequences. We had a rough Wednesday afternoon filled with arguments, tattle tailing and even some tears. On Thursday, we read a story called Moody Cow Meditates- ask your child to retell the story for you. We talked about various strategies that we can use when we are upset. We also participated in some breathing exercises and the children shared what they do when they are feeling upset. The children took turns putting sparkles inside of a glass jar. The clear water in the jar represents our clear mind. The sparkles represent all our anger, bad thoughts and our mistakes. We took turns shaking our jar and watched the sparklers settle down. Our thoughts were settling down as well and we were feeling much more relaxed. We used our Minds Jar at the end of the day to share all the wonderful things that everyone did throughout the day. The children talked about helping others at recess, solving their problems with words, sharing materials and respecting other people.

News/Reminders:
- 100th Day of School Project: Please ensure that your child brings in their 100 objects to school this week. The students will have an opportunity to present their project in front of the class. Your child may practise talking about their counting strategy, where they got the objects and who helped them with the project. I can't wait to hear everyone's presentations!

- Report Cards go home at the end of the school day on Monday. Feb. 13th. Please sign and return the brown report card envelope so that it may be returned to you in June during the second term report cards.

- Just a reminder to order your cookie dough online. All the proceeds help our school purchase new resources. Thank you in advance.

- If your child is signing Valentine's Day cards, they may just sign their name, write down their friends' names or simply write "to my friend". Here is the class list:
